Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA (“Vercel”). Vercel delivers the pages through a worldwide server network. Each time you open a page, Vercel automatically processes the data your browser sends:
- IP address,
- date and time of the request,
- requested address (URL) and response status,
- the page you came from (referrer), if your browser sends it,
- browser, operating system and device type (user agent).
Purpose: We need this data to deliver the website, to protect it against attacks and abuse and to find errors. We do not analyse it to identify you or to build profiles.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is a secure, working website.
Recipients: Vercel processes the data as a processor on our behalf and on our instructions, under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR (vercel.com/legal/dpa). Vercel uses further service providers for this, such as data centres of Amazon Web Services (list: vercel.com/legal/sub-processors).
Transfer to the USA: Vercel Inc. is based in the USA, and data may be processed there. For companies certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the European Commission found an adequate level of data protection by its implementing decision of 10 July 2023 (adequacy decision, Art. 45 GDPR); Vercel Inc. is certified. In addition, the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) are part of the data processing agreement with Vercel Inc. (vercel.com/legal/dpa). You can obtain a copy on request at info@venturebyte.de.
Retention: The logs in our Vercel account are visible to us for one day. Vercel does not specify a fixed retention period for internal log data. Retention depends on security needs, legal and contractual obligations, and the enforcement of rights. When the processing purpose no longer applies, data is deleted or anonymised; if deletion is not yet possible, for example in backups, the data is stored securely.

Audience measurement with your consent
If you choose “Allow statistics” in the notice at the bottom of the page, we use Vercel Web Analytics, a service of Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA (“Vercel”), to measure how often which pages of this website are viewed. Without your consent your browser does not load the measuring script, and nothing is measured.
After your consent, your browser loads a script from our own server and reports each page view to Vercel:
- the page address without the query string and fragment (we remove everything from “?” or “#” before sending),
- date and time,
- the address of the website you came from (referrer), if your browser sends it; pages of this website are not reported as referrer,
- the approximate location (country, region, city) that Vercel derives from your IP address,
- operating system, browser and device type, each with version.
The addresses of this website are sent without query string and fragment: if you arrived with such an address (for example via a link with campaign parameters), we remove them from the address bar after your consent, before the script starts.
Vercel sets no cookies for this. To group page views of the same visit, Vercel creates a hash from details of the request; according to Vercel it is discarded after 24 hours. We only see aggregated statistics, never individual visitors, and we do not combine the data with other data.
Purpose: We want to know which content is read, in order to improve the website.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; for reading information from your browser, Section 25(1) TDDDG.
Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR): use the Privacy settings link at the bottom of every page and choose “Decline”. The page then reloads without the measuring script. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.
Storing your decision: Only once you choose “Allow statistics” or “Decline” in the notice do we store your decision in your browser’s local storage (localStorage, entry “vb-consent” with version, your choice and time), so the notice does not appear on every visit. The entry never leaves your device. It is strictly necessary to respect your decision (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can change it at any time in the privacy settings or delete it in your browser; we will then ask again.
Recipients: Vercel processes the data as a processor on our behalf and on our instructions, under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR (vercel.com/legal/dpa).
You can obtain a copy on request at info@venturebyte.de.
Retention: Vercel discards the hash after 24 hours. The aggregated statistics remain in our Vercel account for as long as we use audience measurement.

This website has no contact form. When you email us, we process your email address, your name if you give it, the content of your message and the technical details of the email (such as time and sending server) to answer your enquiry.
Legal basis: If your enquiry concerns a contract with us or its preparation, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. For all other enquiries it is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to answer your enquiry.

We do not make automated decisions or carry out profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR (Art. 13(2)(f) GDPR).
Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- access: whether and which data we process about you (Art. 15 GDPR),

Right to object under Art. 21 GDPR
Where we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests), you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
We will then no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
No particular form is required; an email to info@venturebyte.de is enough.
Complaint to the supervisory authority
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the EU member state where you live or work or where the alleged infringement took place. The authority responsible for us is:

Data protection officer
We are not required to appoint a data protection officer: fewer than 20 people in our company are constantly engaged in the automated processing of personal data (Section 38(1) BDSG), and our core activities do not consist of large-scale monitoring of individuals or processing of special categories of data (Art. 37(1) GDPR). We answer questions about data protection directly at info@venturebyte.de.
